Augmentation, Breast Lifts and Reductions, Reconstruction and Correcting Prior Surgeries

Breast surgery is commonly performed for four primary reasons, all of which help to enhance appearance, self esteem, lifestyle and sense of self:

Revision:Breast revisions to correct prior surgeries, particularly breast implant surgeries where implants have migrated, deflated or where appearance is unacceptable or undesirable represent more than 50% of the breast procedures performed at the Clinique of Plastic Surgery. Revisions correct problems caused by poorly performed procedures, implant degradation and dislocation, breast hardening and infection. These procedures require extensive experience and versatility in using multiple techniques to achieve a desired goal.

Reconstruction: To restore normal appearance, femininity, self esteem, lifestyle and sense of self for women or men losing breasts to trauma, cancer or other causes;

Augmentation:Breast augmentation, one of the most commonly performed plastic surgery procedures, is used to increase size and restore classic shape in women from a variety of causes such as small, underdeveloped, asymmetrical or unusually developed breasts including congenital problems and loss of volume after pregnancy; and,

Lift or Reduction:Breast reduction is used reduce size to allow for greater range of motion, improve quality of life and to treat size related back pain for women or to normalize breast size in men and boys suffering from gynecomastia. While breast reductions reduce volume, breast lifts help to return breasts to their natural position providing an emotional uplift and a return of self confidence as well. Breast augmentation is sometimes included to return proportional volume and shape.

Note: as a pioneer in stem cell enriched fat micrografting, we are also planning to provide breast restoration and augmentation using adipose derived stem cell enhanced fat micrografting or related fat injections pending FDA approval.

The Clinique of Plastic Surgery always provides proper evaluation to determine the condition of the tissue, medical history with respect to prior surgeries, old photographs to determine the cause of the problem and potential solution, assessment of the degree of general health and to determine the best course of action to achieve the best result. Computer imaging may be used to help both you and the doctor to visualize the outcome.  Proper preparation, visualization and planning are the keys to our success. We take the following steps to prepare for the best possible result:

  • We compare your old and new photographs to identify changes and opportunities
  • We review before and after photographs of other patients of similar age, features and attributes for added comparison
  • We use sophisticated computer imaging software to preview the possibilities to help you make the best decision

This process results in the best plan to rejuvenate, restore and refine your natural beauty at the best value and within your budget.
